The purpose of Nazarene Missions shall be to:
- Mobilize the entire church in active mission involvement, in united prayer, and in the study of the salvation needs of the world;
- Promote a wider knowledge of the mission fields of the Church of the Nazarene;
- Inspire and challenge youth and children to be open to God’s call for missionary service, and top facilitate the mentoring of children, youth, and adults in their calls;
- Raise funds, as elsewhere provided or in the Nazarene Constitution, for extending the kingdom of Jesus Christ around the world.
What is Faith Promise?
The Church of the Nazarene acknowledges that Faith Promise giving is a biblical method used by many local churches for raising financial support for world evangelization. For our denomination, it is dedicated specifically to the mission support of the Church of the Nazarene through various offerings promoted by Nazarene Missions International (NMI).
What does my giving to faith promise do?
The main priority is reaching the world for Christ through the payment of the World Evangelism Fund and other mission projects. We support Crossfit RWOL and the Mustang Pregnancy Center on a local basis. We support the different Nazarene Compassionate Ministry projects here on the Southwest Oklahoma District and we the Salyer Lake Retreat and Conference Center.
When is Faith Promise?
Our next Faith Promise service will be May 5, 2019 with Howard & Barbara Culbertson, retired missionaries. Begin praying for God to challenge us to trust Him to give to share the news with others.
Following the example of Jesus, Compassionate Ministries at Mustang Church of the Nazarene partners with other churches, individuals, and organizations in the greater Oklahoma City Metropolitan area and in our own city of Mustang to: “clothe, shelter, feed, heal, educate, and live in solidarity with those persons who suffer oppression, injustice, violence, poverty, hunger & disease. We exist to proclaim the Gospel to all people.”
Ongoing Ministry Opportunities
COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY
Housed at Mustang Nazarene is a Food Pantry to assist individuals or families in the Mustang Community year round. Our congregation is constantly bringing food to replenish the pantry so that we can continually provide food for any family in need of assistance. There is a designated table in our main mall area where items can be dropped off at anytime. We also encourage monetary donations so that food items can be purchased in bulk. Simply mark your offering as “Food Pantry.”
If you or a family you know are in need of assistance please have them come by the church during weekly office hours and we will be happy to help provide food.
Crisis Care Kits are made by Nazarene volunteers and are a tangible way that people can get involved in the disaster response process. Thousands of Crisis Care Kits are made, stored, and distributed globally each year as needs inevitably arise around the world. Each year, Mustang Church of the Nazarene strives to complete 400 CCK’s and have them ready to distribute at a moments notice.
The best way to help with the Crisis Care Kit’s is through your monetary donation. We can purchase all the items in bulk and make 2 kits for the price of an individual making one. If you would like to donate, you may do so online or in person. Mark your offering CCK’s.
Work & Witness
One way Mustang Church of the Nazarene is actively involved in missions is through Work & Witness events each year. It is our desire to reach out both at home and abroad to share the love of Christ through construction, evangelism, and outreach.

Sixty-six-year-old Milton in Ecuador had no reason to live. He struggled with addiction, which led to his economic downfall. His wife left him and his only son died. For years, he felt alone.
Three years ago, a friend from Milton’s youth generously offered him a place to live. His friend attended church, inviting him every Sunday. Milton noticed how happy his friend was. But every Sunday, Milton turned him down. He didn’t believe in God, nor pastors, nor churches.
Three months ago, Milton realized how persistent his friend had been across the years of these weekly invitations. He decided to attend one church service. The service began with several clips from the JESUS film, which he had to admit intrigued him. After the service, the pastor and many others hugged Milton. His heart was moved, and he found himself attending weekly services.
Three weeks ago, the pastor spoke about the love of God, and Milton could no longer resist the call and God’s mercy.
For the first time in 66 years, he stood and declared Jesus as his Lord and Savior with his heart and mouth. Today, Milton finally has peace and indescribable joy.
There are so many places like Milton’s community in Ecuador that we may never go. There are so many people desperate for hope that we may never meet. However, local Nazarene JESUS Film Teams are going — building relationships and persistently showing these lost people the love of Christ.
If you wish to contribute to JESUS Film Harvest Partners, simply write a check made out to the church with “JESUS Film” in the memo area and drop in in the offering plate or get it to the church office. Essentially, every $3 given to the JESUS Film ends up in a decision for Christ.
