Make Disciples Of All Nations
Jesus commissioned His disciples and the future disciples with these words, “Therefore, Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (Matt 28:19-20)
Many scholars believe the “Go” should be translated actively and, in English, should be phrased “while you are going.” So, our mission is while we are going to make disciples of all nations. Everyone, everywhere. There is no one and no place left out of Jesus’ plan.
Later in Acts 1:8, Jesus says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” In this text, we find that Jesus has removed the excuse of places that might be left out culturally, racially, religiously, and geographically. There are no people and no place outside of God's mission.
Welcome to the mission! Should you accept it, you are part of an organization that exists for the benefit of people who aren’t members. Our responsibility is the entire planet, 8 billion people in 195 countries, speaking 7,151 known languages.
The Global Church of the Nazarene, has 2 million members worldwide, in 163 countries, with 23,000 churches, 30,000 clergy, and ministers in training. Nazarenes are passionate about making a difference in the world by taking the good news of Jesus Christ to people everywhere.
Today there are 724 missionaries and volunteers serving around the world. Each week, Nazarenes worship in more than 212 languages or tribal languages, with literature produced in 90 of these. The church operates 33 medical clinics and hospitals worldwide. Nazarenes also started new churches and congregations by praying, giving, and supporting worldwide volunteers and contracted missionaries.
How Does Mustangnaz Fund The Mission, Love Above All?
We are 100 % funded through voluntary donations.
- Tithing
Tithing is a biblical principle. God calls us to give Him the first 10% of our income. We’ve seen God provide abundantly in our church, and we know He will provide abundantly for you and your family when you put Him first in your finances. It’s the one area in the Bible where God tells you to test Him.
When you tithe, you trust God with your finances and future, allowing God to pour out abundant grace, supplying every need.
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." Malachi 3:10 NIV
90-Day Tithing Challenge
If you tithe for three months and don't see God's blessings, we will refund 100% of your tithe.
- Offerings
These are gifts that are given above and beyond Tithes. We have many ministry areas that serve our community, and from time to time, people choose to designate an area to give to specifically.
- Giving to Missions
"Funding the Mission" (formerly "Faith Promise") has been one way of raising funds to support and fund the spread of the Gospel around the world, specifically through the Church of the Nazarene. "Funding the Mission" is stepping out in faith and relying on God to provide the funds we commit to giving to missions. We can do this by prayerfully considering our pledge to faithfully give on a weekly/monthly basis (on top of our regular giving) over the next year. The pledge is confidential and between you and God. Our missionary enterprise is made possible by the contributions of the global Nazarene family through the World Evangelism Fund.
What is the World Evangelism Fund (WEF)?
Your gifts create and sustain ministries and allow The Church of the Nazarene to spread the gospel. WEF goes directly toward accomplishing our mission: to make Christlike disciples in the nations. WEF is the funding that operates the Church of the Nazarene and its entire mission effort, from the operation of the Global Ministry Center to districts and churches around the world. Every Nazarene congregation pays 5.5% of all money raised and gives it to the World Evangelism Fund.
Funding the Mission Name
In 2008, the Church of the Nazarene changed the way it funded WEF, Pensions and Benefits, Regional Colleges, and Universities across the World. We adopted a model called "Funding The Mission." Where every local church gives a 10% tithe to fund the mission of the global church.
One local church could not fund all that the Church of the Nazarene does globally, but together with 33,000 local churches, together, we can fund the mission.
Does My Giving Help?
Yes! We do not expect equal gifts. Do you remember the Widow in Mark 12? She gave all she had out of her poverty, two small coins. Jesus said that she gave more than all the rest put together. The church is called to care for widows, orphans, and the poor. In our giving, we are to give what the Lord commands. By giving you tithe, offerings, and missions, you make it possible to do more than any of us can.
The primary goal is to reach the world for Christ, and we accomplish that by supporting the World Evangelism Fund.
Every dollar you give to "Funding the Mission" (aka Faith Promise) goes directly to the WEF and our local mission ministries like our MustangNaz Food Pantry, Community Cookies, Refugee Partners, Jubilee Partners, Reaching Our City, Western Heights, and Work & Witness. Each dollar helps fund ministry locally and around the Globe to fulfill the Great Commission.
Funding The Mission Sunday
We hosted our Funding The Mission Sunday in January. Our giving is on the same calendar cycle as our 12-month budget, January to December. You can now pledge to give to missions, just like we did when it was called Faith Promise. Our official title is now Funding The Mission. Please pray and ask the Lord to guide you in your giving. God bless you as we Fund The Mission of MustangNaz:
Love Above All, Everyone, Every Day, Everywhere
